it was in bobcaygeon

I think it must have been one of Robby's ideas. We jammed it a couple of times with Gord's lyrics about a small town in Ontario named Bobcaygeon. This was when we were just getting the house set up for recording and before going to Europe and Roadside Attraction. And we got this great take of the song. It was just one of those things, a moment in time, like we're starting to have these days. We got a few other songs ready during this session and when Steve started working with us one of the first thing he said is "I don't want to change anything on Bobcaygeon." The final flourishes are the organ, added by Steve Berlin and the pedal-steel played by Bob Egan. We liked the length of the song too [4:55]. I think if we had gone and re-recorded it, we maybe would not have made that jam as long and that would have been too bad. You can sometime tinker with a song for too long and never really improve on it. We performed Bobcaygeon most nights on Roadside. Johnny Fay
